the one thing about not being in the office, like traveling for work or just taking some time off, things tend to pile up. march has been a busy month in the first place, what with new projects and all, but when i got back from orlando, everything went crazy. as a result, i have been working late these past few days. i don't mind as i like what i do. but the fact that i didn't really fully recover from being sick two weeks ago, then straight to traveling, then straight into this busy week, i'm left feeling exhausted.

my good friend, deanardo or deano for short (dean to most), is visiting from SanFo and i was getting worried that maybe i wasn't going to be able to see him. alas, i was able to get out of work early today and drove to riss' where deano is staying and hang out with them (and my girls A and F) for a couple of hours. i always have fun with deano and i miss those days when we all used to hang out at his apartment on 34th street (this was back in college days and he went to school at NYU). it was convenient for me since i used to work on 31st and i would just go there and hang out (since everyone almost always used to end up there anyway).

some things i miss:
- riding the staten island ferry with him and whoever is in town visiting
- going to the car show at the javitz center with him and phil g.
- eating at tokyo lamein - he introduced me to this awesome hole-in-the-wall japanese restaurant which i think serves THE best shrimp tempura roll
- ending up at round-the-clock at some unGodly hour
- cooking random things at his apartment like that carbonarra that he still talks about until today, and that filipino spaghetti that i made for his birthday
- hanging out in chinatown
- etc... lots of good time...

anyway, i would have been really disappointed with myself if i didn't get the chance to see deano - specially since last time i was in SanFo he was one of the guys that made sure i had fun. i'm really glad that i was able to hang out with him, albeit it was only for a short time, and to see that he's doing ok (and that he's got an awesome job which, by the way, i told him to take when he told me about it last year). I hope to make it out to SanFo sometime soon and hang out with him and the rest of the SanFo crew.

deano, come back more often coz your east coast family misses you!

Yeah come out here! I could have met up with you in LA the last time you were out here IF Ben called me earlier in the day, but by the time he called I was in Daygo. So yeah come up to the bay! Or by some grace of God I'll get into Grad school and i'll just wait till then. ;)

awwwwww girlie is fresh!and she cooks crazy carbonara, and she's got the coolet saint bernard i've seen in a picture, ever! WestSIEEEEED!

i miss girlie too. and i wouldn't have money right now were it not for her.

deano!!!!!!!!! can i ship Tiny to SanFo??? i'm sure she'll enjoy you as much as you enjoy her (minus the drool!). Hope to see you soon!

EJ - next time i'm in town i'll make sure the bay folks let you know. and you do the same when you're out here in the east coast!
