flipping through my past
i was frantically looking for my checkbooks the other day. i still have time, but i wanted to write out the check for my car loan this month and for some reason i can't remember where i put my checkbook.

maybe it's because i really haven't written a check in more than a year...

anyway, while i was going through boxes and boxes of junk (why the hell haven't we thrown those out?), i found several journals and notebooks, with pages and pages of poems in it - my poems. so i forgot what i was doing and just sort of sat in the middle of all the clutter and started flipping through all eight journals and notebooks that i haven't seen in years.

there were poems about love.
about heartaches.
about life.
there were some about sex.
about lust.
about nonsense.
about death.
about feelings and experiences i had at certain points of my life.

there must have been atleast a hundred poems there. i wonder what happened to the rest of them...

Comments:

i have a binder that i used to take to do readings...poems full of rage and love and all things inbetween. i see it every now and then in the chaos of my bedroom floor and i won't open it until i feel ready. and it's been awhile.

maybe i'll grab a bottle of wine and tackle it.

There was a girl named Girlie.
Her hair was hardly curly.
I'm not much of a poet.
The end.

I'm sleepy - I've been up all night doing work and now it's 6am Friday morning! Maybe I should 'work from home' today ... ;)

Voodoo - i think that's what i'm going to do when i start transfering the poems into one journal - open a bottle of wine! its a good numbing agent heh heh..

Ricarte - why, oh why did you have to be off site on Thursdays??? why can't it be another day???
