my thoughts. exactly. |
January 18, 2005 finally, an update - sorry no pics! last week was kind of exhausting. things were hectic at work and i've been keeping active by going to the gym almost everyday (except for thursday when i worked from home, i did pilates then, following one of those crunch workout dvds) and attending ballet classes. i think i went over the top because by saturday afternoon, i was falling asleep while driving to pick up the snowboards on my way home from ny. ANYWAY, it's such a close call. man, i still shiver just the thought of what might have happened had i not opened my eyes in time. brrr.... anyway, since i mentioned saturday, i took my mom and dad to brunch then dropped them off in manhattan. after that, i went over to steve's pad for a quick pee stop then we headed over to guitar center (which we both thought was called guitar world) where i played with one of the drumsets in the showroom while steve convinced himself to/not-to buy a guitar. when i got tired of pretending i'm the coolest drummer around, i sat in front of the big screen tv and watched whatever they had on (like i had any other choice) when steve walked up to me and said 'they are so nice here, they are letting me borrow the guitar'. normally i'd say 'what? who did you promise to sleep with???' but i knew steve's in denial. anyway, in the end we walked out of the store with an electric guitar, an amp, and other guitar-related stuff - 'borrowed' for the full price of the entire package, never to be returned again. we were going to 'borrow' some clothes at esprit but our stomachs ruled over us so we just went over to some random japanese restaurant and had lunch. after that, i dropped off steve back at his place then i headed north to pick up mine and lj's snowboards before i hit home. saturday night, kat and mark five slept over our house since we were leaving for vermont real early in the morning to hit up the slopes for the first time this season. so yeah, sunday morning lj, kat, mark five, and i drove to mt. snow where we met up with sol and her new beau, david. gail, brian and company were supposed to be there as well but i didn't see them as i pretty much stayed on the bunny slope. go ahead, laugh. i really don't care. i know what a broken wrist feels like and i wasn't about to risk breaking anything before hitting colorado next month. anyway, so yeah, i stayed on the bunny slope while luke, kat and mark five went on their merry way. i actually did better than i thought i would. didn't fall at all. its a good thing coz i was so afraid to fall... there were a few times when i thought i'd brave going up with the rest of my posse but i thought otherwise. didn't want to push my luck. and besides, lj and i will probably head north this coming weekend anyway to get even more acquainted with our boards. i mentioned colorado. a whole bunch of us (lj, kat, mark five, sol, angie, steve) are heading west to breckenridge for a few days to get some good snowboarding runs since the mountains here in the northeast doesn't really offer good snow this season. anyway, we're all supposed to stay for four days but i have to cut my trip short and leave wednesday (everyone's staying til thurs) to head straight to vegas for a couple of days to attend a client's conference. should be pretty cool to hang out there for a couple of days before heading back to the cold weather here in the east coast. kinda of sucks that i have to cut my vaca short but it's cool. atleast instead of taking a whole week against my vaca days, i'm only taking two, the other three days will be counted as business trips. it's all good!!!

Hello. I've been lurking for a while, got here through Riss's blog (and I used to irc as sWeetPnaY). I only tried Colorado once, but the snow is so nice. Also, if you're afraid of falling you should try wrist guards...a bitch to put on under your gloves--but it gives you a sense of security (which is always good). Ya'll should try Mammoth, that's the best...I hear the snows really good now too. Have a great time! =) hey EJ! thanks for stopping by. we are all excited to go to CO! since i broke my wrist, i have been wearing a wrist guard under my gloves for snowboarding. i recently bought gloves that has a built-in wrist guard. hopefully it's not as annoying as trying to put the gloves on top of one!
