aud told me today that if i don't update my blog soon, she's going to kick my ass. as much as i enjoy her kind of ass kicking (i'm thinking it involves spam for some reason....), i really don't want any of my friends to get violent on me. so yah, i'm back for now.
getting off of blogging for a bit refrained me from saying stupid things for you guys to read. i tend to rant a lot when things are bugging me and sometimes say hurtful things which are aimed at no one (most of the time). so while i was on my blogging sabatical, i saved you guys from the grief and the trouble of deciphering through excessive curses and bad grammar.
i'm finally done worrying about my sister's wedding and everything that had to do with it. her veil came out really nice - i liked it but she loved it and that's what matters. now all her friends want me to make them their wedding veil. yeah right. there is one reason why i only have one sister: only once will i do shit like making a veil and arranging flowers for her wedding. speaking of the flowers, i made all the arrangements for the reception and all the bouquets and boutonnieres for her wedding party and sponsors. i used roses of different colors for the arrangements and yellow and white roses for the bridal party. its amazing how the flowers, which were flown in from colombia and ecuador, survived in my hands for three whole days and actually remained beautiful even after the festivity was over.
while trying to entertain myself, i ended up spending over $300 bucks on dvds. spending all that money is an excuse to fill the 200 disc dvd player that we have. So far its loaded with about 50 dvds. why have extra space? anyway, i added the lotr, star wars trilogy, exorcist, the ring, mona lisa smile, matrix reloaded, endurance: shackleton's journey, and other titles i can't recall right now. i also want to mention that i bought most of the dvds at walmart (some at tower records, some at stop and shop), a place i don't frequent for various reasons. i have come to the realization that walmart is good for buying dvds and candles. that and finding random things like any kind of justice league-related paraphernalias for friends like riss. btw, if any of you guys find undies with any of the justice league characters (specially spiderman, superman, or wonderwoman), please buy them for me. i'll pay you back!
i took a day trip out to cincinnati for a 3-hour client meeting. since my flight was at six in the morning, i had to be picked up at four in the morning since i live an hour away from the airport. as a treat, the car service i use whenever i leave from my house sent a stretch to pick me up. when i asked why i deserved it, the driver answered 'lowell thought you might want to stretch out this early in the morning'. he's a good man, that lowell (he owns the car service company). eversince i told him to buckle up when he's driving (he said no one has ever cared to tell him that in all the years he's been driving), he's grown fond of me like i'm one of his granddaughters.
i found out recently that, if ever lj and i don't work out, there is a line of men who will be more than glad to take me in. how sweet. i mean, besides the fact that it is disgusting to know that there are actually people out there who are hoping and waiting for my marriage not to work out, i have to admit that its kind of flattering. i mean, i have never thought of myself as someone 'wantable'. but i guess there are still fools in this world who find me as such. the only problem with this is, even if lj and i don't work out, and even if i may have found them interesting at one point or another, what makes these guys think that i'll even consider any of them?
i also found out recently that i'm being considered to lead the implementations for the expansion we're planning for the asian region. nice, i say. i found this out over lunch while getting intoxicated with some expensive bottles of spanish wine. my vp and svp were talking in front of me like i wasn't there and finally they both turned and asked me about what i thought of the idea of working in our singapore office for a few months. i say, no problemo! there's a lot of people waiting for this project to start, a lot waiting to be assigned to it. but i don't think anyone wants it more than i do. so it'd be awesome if i can lead the entire proj.
what do you do when you're stuck in a funk? you either spend the money shopping for useless items, or you cut your hair. since i didn't have the extra mula this time around to spend on nonsense (since i already spent them on useless things such as the dvds), i spent one hundred and fifty dollars instead on getting a haircut. effing expensive but i needed the pampering before anyone got hurt so i hightailed it to the red door salon and told the master stylist to chop it all off. fortunately she talked some sense into me and i agreed to keep the length with a new hairstyle instead. so now, i have bangs. i have not had bangs since i was seven. i really don't know how it looks and i honestly don't care but people have been telling me it looks good/hot/sexy. people lie. specially if they know you are having a bad, bad, bad couple of days/weeks/months/year
can u guys find me something that i can obsess about (i.e. candies, cartoon characters, books, sex toys, etc...) so that my new best friend (note to Phil G - this doesn't mean you've been replaced!), Mike J, can spend lavishly on my obsession? it doesn't have to be expensive but it has to be something good and something i'll actually enjoy!
